Eleanor Barr, Esq.
MEDIATION EXPERIENCE
Ms. Barr is among the most respected neutrals in California and has
been recognized by “Best Lawyers in America” as one of the top
practitioners of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Over the last decade, Ms. Barr has resolved over a thousand cases – many
of them multi-party, bitterly-contested disputes – in a variety of areas
including business, employment, real estate, environmental, and probate
law. Ms. Barr’s success at settling cases attests to her skill at
distilling complex issues, her decade-long litigation experience, and
her ability to defuse the emotional issues that often underlie conflict.
In addition to mediating disputes, Ms. Barr facilitates large and small
group dialogues in corporate and educational settings.
As an adjunct professor at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution
at Pepperdine University School of Law, Ms. Barr teaches mediation
skills to students, lawyers and judges. She is a frequent lecturer on
mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution for law firms,
businesses, insurance companies and educational institutions.

PROFESSIONAL LEGAL EXPERIENCE
Ms. Barr began practicing law 19 years ago as a litigator of complex
civil cases. She was a named partner (under her maiden name, Oths) at
Denney & Oths in Glendale, California where she focused on
environmental, business and employment litigation. Prior to that, Ms.
Barr was an associate at Glassman & Browning in Beverly Hills where she
litigated in the areas of entertainment and First Amendment law. She has
represented corporate and individual clients, as plaintiffs and
