Formerly a Judge serving on the Korean District and Appellate Courts and as Assistant Research Judge on the Supreme Court of Korea, Judge Ju Myung Hwang was responsible for launching the Alternative Dispute Resolution program for the Seoul District Court.

He has served as general counsel and sat on the boards of major Korean companies and public agencies and has represented multinational corporate and individual clients in Korea on complex international arbitration and litigation matters. He has also handled international and Korean ADR as arbitrator and counsel for cases involving LG Electronics, SK Energy, and Hyoseong affiliate companies.

Judge Hwang’s noteworthy experience includes representing Johnson & Johnson against the Korean Government; representing Coca Cola in trademark infringement litigation; IBM in commercial litigation against a local Korean company; Chevron in a patent infringement case; Dow Chemical in Agent Orange litigation; Deutsche Bank in tax litigation before the Korean Supreme Court; Merck Sharp & Dohme in Korean fair trade litigation; and other multinationals in labor disputes.
