Trial Experience

Mr. Sharer has tried a wide variety of civil cases in many areas, mostly jury but some non jury. He has tried cases involving claims of legal, medical, and accounting malpractice. He has also tried Anti Trust matters, complex commercial cases, claims involving international tax issues, contractual disputes, personal injury, wrongful death cases and others. His trials include, among many others, a dispute over the heavy weight championship fight between Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas tried in the New York Federal Court; a case which was then, and may still be, the longest jury trial in San Diego County history involving claims by European banks against a large American accounting Company; a case tried in the Arizona Federal Court in what is believed to be the first anti trust case in the U.S.A. involving a Japanese company which went to verdict; cases involving taxation of international income tried in California and Alaska; a series of medical malpractice cases involving the cause of blindness in premature infants; a legal malpractice case involving a movie and TV celebrity's alleged obligations in promoting a product bearing her name; the trial of claims arising from the sale by a multinational company of one of it's brands; the trial of a wrongful death case on behalf of the family of a man killed while working in an excavation and the trial on behalf of the family of a doctor shot and killed by another doctor

In addition to his extensive trial court experience Mr. Sharer has had significant involvement in appellate matters.

Mediation Experience

Mr. Sharer has had considerable experience as a mediator in a variety of cases. He has also represented clients in a large number of mediations involving a wide variety of cases and before a number of different mediators.
