Admitted to California Bar in 1956. General practice in San Diego with small civil firm, 1956 to 1962. Practice focused on business and tax law in San Diego, 1965 to 1972. Practice as sole practitioner with emphasis on civil litigation, 1982 to 1988.

Undergraduate degree, Stanford University (with "great distinction.") 1951. Law degree, Boalt Hall, University of California at Berkeley (Order of the Coif, Editor in Chief of the California Law Review) 1956. Professor of law, Boalt Hall, 1963 to 1965, teaching courses in income tax, trusts and legal ethics. Part-time professor of law at California Western University and University of San Diego law schools, various times from 1957 through 1980, teaching courses in torts, income tax, equity, corporations, civil procedure. At various times have been licensed as a securities broker with the NASD and as a real estate broker. Served a term as probate referee. Professional articles in various publications, teaching positions with the Continuing Education of the Bar and the Rutter Group.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Interested in serving as mediator, arbitrator, referee under general order of reference, or consultant (principally a consultant on matters involving appellate work). Basic fee is $400.00 per hour. Does not ordinarily charge for travel time, but does include cost of travel outside San Diego County. Has had experience in ADR work in fields of marital dissolution, insurance litigation, real estate litigation, partnerships and corporations, securities litigation, general contract work.
